Working at HLM
Jobs and careers
Our dedicated employees solve tasks every day that require many different competencies throughout the organisation - from surveyors, trainees and CAD consultants to Finance, HR and administration.
Common to us all is; we aim to show trust, be innovative and solution-oriented.
We would love to hear from you if you share our values. Read below if you want an insight of what it is like working at HLM.
HLMs CAD consultant, Natascha:
”Life as a CAD consultant is exciting and challenging. The job is very versatile and can range widely depending on the type of task and case you are responsible for. I often have several cases running side by side, which can be challenging and at the same time interesting. It provides variety in a busy day. „
As a CAD consultant, you are the meeting point between the customer and the surveyor. We work independently with our projects, and we provide data to the surveyors, which must be used on the site. At the same time, we receive the surveyor's survey data, which we pass on to our customers in the form of, for example, detailed drawings, plans and descriptions. We also help to prepare technical solutions for a given task, in collaboration with the surveyor and the customer.
HLM has a diverse circle of employees, which covers different age groups and ethnicities, which means that there is a high ceiling and respect for the individual colleague. In addition, everyone delivers quality and different experiences, which gives good ideas and development. We all work in teams that change constantly. In this way we get to know each other well and get an insight into each other's everyday lives. We consult with each other, and if you need any help, a colleague is always ready to help you out. HLM offers many social events to employees, which develop our relationships and understanding of each other. HLM is happy to help interns and takes pride in sharing knowledge with students. HLM is always interested in developing and optimizing work processes, as well as researching the market for the latest technology."
HLMs surveyor, Marc:
”Of course there are pros and cons to being a surveyor. In winter it is cold outside, but on the other hand it is nice to be outside on a hot summer day. Also, you have the freedom, you meet a lot of exciting people on various projects and then you have to think independently and make decisions on your own„
”In addition, I like that HLM is a "small" company, everyone knows everyone, and the social work environment is top notch. Everyone is always very helpful also across departments if needed. HLM does a lot to take care of its employees. You are always asked how you feel, which makes me feel valued. People listen if you have a good idea and everyone works together to make HLM better, both socially and on the construction sites.”
HLMs surveyor, Brian:
”I really like my job as a surveyor and this joy is emphasized by working at HLM. As a surveyor, you usually work alone, and you work very independent - I enjoy this a lot. An even more important part of the job as a surveyor is to work so much outside even though the weather can be harsh during the winter period.„
It gives me great pleasure to work with the various contractors (chairmen and concrete people). It's about figuring out what they want and how, and then doing the job with care and pleasure. As a surveyor, you are fortunate, as there is always a need for surveyors in the construction industry as surveying is an important part of the construction process - so you are always valued as a surveyor.
I’ve been working at HLM for 3.5 years and I enjoy the opportunities the job brings. I like the variety of sometimes having to visit different construction sites every day and at other times being permanently on the same site every day or once or twice a week. At HLM, we have contact to the drawing department frequently and they deliver data before a task and I send data back after completing the task. This contact with the drawing department is very rewarding and I appreciate that they are very helpful with functions in ACAD if I need this on regular cases."
